Myriam Ahmed is a PhD candidate at the "Radical Spaces" Research Group. Her research interest focuses on the intersections between space and protest as well as repression dynamics. Therefore she thinks about "who has a right to the city while analyzing how this right is negotiated between the state and society, especially following protest and repression dynamics". Her regional focus is on the MENA Region.
Myriam studied Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Bern. She has great pratical experience in the field of peacebuilding, especially in the MENA Region, through her work for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs as well as for the Institute for Peace and Conflict studies swisspeace.
