The SAFEResearch project explores the ethical and security challenges researchers face when conducting field research and, in the era of COVID19 , when substituting virtual research methods for field research. It aims to systematize best practices for safe and ethical field research in hostile environments and provides a platform for collaboration between academia, journalism, NGOs, human rights defenders, and digital security experts from the Global North and South.
